Motor vehicles and motor cycles can be shipped from the UK to the following ports by either a shared container service,
sole use container service or the Roll On Roll Off (RORO) car ferry service.
- Auckland
- Wellington (note: no RORO service)
- Christchurch (note: no RORO service)
Services to other ports in New Zealand via a sole use container service are also available.
Please bear in mind that it is always the owner's own responsibility to ensure that the vehicle meets the standards and
regulations that apply, and that all applicable documents are presented to the authorities in New Zealand.
Prior to shipping a motor vehicle the owner must obtain a "Statement of Compliance". For motor cycles manufactured before 1st October 2002, this Statement does not need to be obtained, however proof of ownership will need to be provided.

The Motor Industry Association (MIA) supplies a list of contacts in NZ who are able to complete Statements of Compliance
for particular make of vehicles. The estimated cost for this statement is between NZD500.00 and NZD750.00. This list of

Please note regulations may differ for temporary Imports and vehicles, which have already been exported from New Zealand.
