Shipment Protection
Whilst we take every care to ensure your belongings arrive safely, we do strongly recommend you take advantage of the excellent
Standard Liability protection we offer you for your goods. Our Standard Liability scheme offers protection to the full destination
replacement value of your shipment, is approved and recommended by the British Association of Removers, and is fully backed by AXA
Corporate Solutions Assurance. Cover commences from receipt of goods until delivery to residence or store or within 60 days
following the vessel's discharge, whichever is the sooner.
Standard Liability protects against major risks of loss or damage and is effected on our receipt of your written valuation of your
goods on the form we provide, and your payment of an additional charge based on the valuation. Standard Liability protection is
subject to our British Association of Removers approved Terms and Conditions, available on our website, or by post or email on
request.
Standard Liability protection covering Owner Packed belongings is available at a rate of 5% of the full destination replacement
value as indicated by you on the Valuation Form we provide you with.
Standard Liability protection covering goods fully Professionally Packed (generally household removal shipments packed by us), is
available at a rate of 3% of the full destination replacement value as indicated by you on the Valuation Form we provide you with.
Standard Liability protection is free of any tax surcharge except for UK storage or moves wholly within the EU in which case the
prevailing rate of VAT (currently 17.5%) will apply. In the event of any claim arising, we reserve the right to charge a claim
handling fee of £50.00 to cover our administrative costs.
Please note that in the event you decline our Standard Liability protection we will rely upon our Terms and Conditions clauses 4.5
and 9.2 (Limited Liability) in the unforeseen event of loss or damage, howsoever caused.
We thoroughly recommend that for your own peace of mind, you protect your goods with our Standard Liability protection.
Please note that jewellery, watches, trinkets, precious stones, money, deeds, securities, stamps, manuscripts or other documents,
wines, spirits, and tobacco are not insurable. We are not able to carry animals or foodstuffs of any kind on our service.
Financial Protection
Budget Shipping Ltd is a fully bonded member of the British Association of Removers Overseas Group.

Through our membership to the BAR Overseas Group we are subscribed to a financial bonding scheme to protect
all your pre-payments made to Budget Shipping Ltd.
This scheme is known as the Advance Payment Guarantnee and is only available to members of the BAR Overseas Group.
The Advance Payment Gurantee system provides absolute financial protection for you in a climate where
insolvency is no longer a rare occurrence. Put quite simply, should Budget Shipping Ltd go into liquidation
with your effects in our warehouse or in transit, BAR Overseas will intervene and ensure that your
removal is completed without any additional cost to you. Obviously, they require very stringent criteria to
be met by their members to avoid such an occurrence. |
In fact, fewer than 100 companies in the whole of the UK can claim to meet the stringent membership criteria and high standards
required.
